Inner Flesh, Eternal Life
John 6:52-58 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read John 6 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage presents Jesus' call to eat and drink as a metaphor for inner reception of life from the indwelling Christ, not a literal sacrifice. It points to an inner union where God dwells in the believer and life is lived by that Christ-life.
Neville's Inner Vision
John 6:52-58 is not about cannibalism; it is a parable of inner nourishment. The flesh and blood are your own life-streams when you consent to dwell in the I AM. You are invited to make the Christ-consciousness your continuous awareness, not a distant event. To eat the flesh of the Son of Man is to acknowledge that the life that animates you is not separate from God, but one dynamic energy that you can feed with imagination. When you refuse to doubt and instead revise your sense of self to that indwelling life, you dwell in me and I in you, as Jesus promised. The Father within you, whom you call God, sends you the living bread; you receive it by faith that is really feeling-it-real. This is not a command to physical process but an invitation to union: live by the Christ who is also your own I AM. Hence, the bread comes down from heaven in the moment you align with your true nature, and you live forever by that alignment.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, and declare: I am one with the Christ within; I eat this bread now. Feel the life surge through every cell as you dwell in the I AM.
