The Quiet King Within

John 6:14-15 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read John 6 in context

Scripture Focus

14Then those men, when they had seen the miracle that Jesus did, said, This is of a truth that prophet that should come into the world.
15When Jesus therefore perceived that they would come and take him by force, to make him a king, he departed again into a mountain himself alone.
John 6:14-15

Biblical Context

After the miracle, the crowd declares Jesus a true prophet and seeks to crown him; sensing their move, he withdraws to the mountain, choosing solitude over political power.

Neville's Inner Vision

In this scene, the crowd’s impulse to crown Jesus is a mirror of your own craving to make God rule through outward power. The miracle awakens a familiar hunger to marshal evidence, to men organize an external kingdom. Yet Jesus, knowing the force of collective expectation, withdraws and leaves the public stage. He does not refuse divinity, only the instrument of force. His action is a luminous reminder that the true king sits within—the I AM, the awareness that perceives all and remains untouched by hype or demand. When you stop seeking to obligate the world to honor a certain form of power, you invite the quiet sovereignty of God within to govern your inner states. The 'kingdom of God' then is not a political event but a shift of attention from outward results to the steady, unconditional I AM.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Close your eyes and declare, 'I AM the king of my inner life now.' Feel the I AM govern your thoughts and emotions, releasing the need to force external outcomes.
