Inner Love Beyond Human Honor

John 5:41-42 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read John 5 in context

Scripture Focus

41I receive not honour from men.
42But I know you, that ye have not the love of God in you.
John 5:41-42

Biblical Context

Jesus declares he does not receive honor from men and identifies a lack of God's love in his listeners. The verse invites inner reflection on where true love and recognition come from.

Neville's Inner Vision

In the John passage, the outer claim of honor from men is shown for what it is: a mirror of your current inner state. The I AM within you is not impressed by human praise; it recognizes itself when you stand in the love of God. If you hear that you have not the love of God in you, do not condemn yourself—observe your present consciousness and see that it can be revised. The invitation is to shift from seeking acceptance outside to resting in the truth that God’s love is your essential I AM. By assuming that love as real, you collapse the old scene where you were defined by others’ approval. Feel the firmness of divine love as the base of your being, and let obedience and faithfulness arise from that inner union. When you dwell in this revised sense of self, the external judgments lose weight and your actions become a natural outflow of the Love that you already are.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, affirm 'I am loved by God' as the I AM within you, and feel that love saturate your inner landscape until the urge for human approval softens.
