Wholeness in the Inner Temple

John 5:14 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read John 5 in context

Scripture Focus

14Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.
John 5:14

Biblical Context

Jesus tells the healed man that he is now whole. He warns him to sin no more to avoid a worse condition.

Neville's Inner Vision

In the temple of your mind, you are the man Jesus speaks to. The declaration 'thou art made whole' is not future healing but the recognition of your I AM state already awake within you. The healing occurs in consciousness, and the body mirrors the cleared self. 'Sin no more' is not a rebuke but a call to abandon the old identity. When you cling to error or fear, you feed a renewal of discord; when you acknowledge yourself as whole, you starve that old image of power. The temple is your present awareness, and Jesus embodies the inner voice of God—your I AM—that corrects perception. The 'worse thing' would be the persistence of the old self-image; thus revise and dwell in the truth you already possess. Obedience here is quiet, steadfast alignment with wholeness, a forgiving restoration that reconciles you to your true nature. Sit with this awareness now, and let the inner state determine outward form.

Practice This Now

In a quiet moment, assume the complete state of wholeness in the temple of your mind, then feel it real as you declare I AM whole. Revise the memory of 'sin' as forgiven and replaced by love.
