Biblical Context
Many Samaritans believed because of the woman's testimony; they came to Jesus and urged him to stay, and he stayed two days. Many more believed because of his own word, and they said they now believe not because of her saying but because they have heard him themselves and know that he is the Christ, the Saviour of the world.
Neville's Inner Vision
Beloved, the scene is not about geography but about states of consciousness. The woman is a state of mind that speaks to awaken belief in others. When she testifies, the inner city of your mind gathers around the Teacher and invites the Word to dwell with you. As you listen to the inner Word, you find that more belief arises from hearing him yourself, not merely from someone else's testimony. The crowd tarrying with you becomes a sign that the inner Christ is present, and the moment you hear him speak you know that he is the Christ, the Saviour of your world. The Christ within becomes your operative presence, and the outer events begin to reflect this inner conviction. This story invites you to let inner hearing replace outer persuasion and to trust that your awareness can reveal the savior right where you are.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Sit in stillness and declare I am the Christ within me now; let the feeling rise and imagine hearing the inner Word affirm that Jesus is the Saviour of my world.
