I Am He Within You
John 4:26 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Biblical Context
Jesus tells the Samaritan woman that He is the Messiah speaking to her in the moment. The encounter invites you to recognize the I AM within your own consciousness as the present speaker of truth.
Neville's Inner Vision
To Neville’s ear, the scene is a revelation of inner psychology. The 'I that speak unto thee' is the I AM addressing your own awareness through form and voice. The woman at the well symbolizes a life thirsting for meaning; the voice that speaks is not a distant figure but the self, the ruler of its internal landscape. The Messiah is not a future event but the status your consciousness assumes when it recognizes itself as the speaker. When you claim 'I am he'—as the living I AM within—you align with the kingdom of God that exists in you already. This is a direct messianic claim inwardly realized: the authority you seek is your own awareness, and truth flows from that self-knowledge. Mind and world respond as movements of your inner state; faithfulness means remaining in the assumption long enough for outer appearances to echo it. The verse invites you to stop looking outside and to acknowledge the God-within as the speaker and the doer, here and now.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit quietly, close your eyes, and assume the state 'I am the I AM inside me now.' Speak the words softly, feel their vibration in your chest, and carry that certainty into your day as living truth.
