The Above Testimony Within

John 3:31-33 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read John 3 in context

Scripture Focus

31He that cometh from above is above all: he that is of the earth is earthly, and speaketh of the earth: he that cometh from heaven is above all.
32And what he hath seen and heard, that he testifieth; and no man receiveth his testimony.
33He that hath received his testimony hath set to his seal that God is true.
John 3:31-33

Biblical Context

John 3:31–33 contrasts the heavenly witness with earthly speech; true testimony comes from above and is sealed by those who receive it.

Neville's Inner Vision

From above is the higher state of my consciousness, the inner vantage from which all true testimony arises. The one coming from heaven speaks not of limited appearances but from the eternal I AM within me, the awareness that is above all. The earthly voice talks of the earth, and its talk cannot alter the truth that I am already aligned with. When the heavenly witness testifies, I have seen and heard it in the silent chamber of my own awareness; it is not grasped by others who hear with fear or doubt, and so 'no man receiveth his testimony' in the sense of outer belief. Yet to me, who receives it, a seal is set that God is true. Receiving is a surrender of the outer skeptic and a consenting to the inner truth. It is the recognition that my inner I AM is the source of all right discernment, providence, and wisdom. By living from that witness I place God’s truth at the center of my experience, and my life testifies accordingly.

Practice This Now

Imaginative_act: Sit quietly, claim 'I am the above— I AM the testifier that God is true within me,' and feel that truth settling into the next moment.
