Above All: Inner Heaven Within
John 3:31 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read John 3 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse draws a clear contrast: what comes from above is above all. What is of the earth is earthly and speaks only of earthly things.
Neville's Inner Vision
Consider that 'he that cometh from above' is not a distant traveler but a state of consciousness you awaken to. In truth there is only one source of reality: the I AM, the awareness that chooses. When you identify with the 'above,' you recognize your capacity to govern experiences from within rather than be ruled by form. The one who comes from heaven is the living, creative principle in you, the higher self that stands over the seen world. Earthly speech—proclamations of lack, limitation, and memory—belongs to the lower, sense-bound plane. But the moment you hold the stance of the higher, it becomes your center of gravity; thoughts, feelings, and imaginal acts align with that ruling presence. Imagination is the instrument by which heaven's law operates in your life; you revise limitations by assuming the truth of your higher self and feeling it as real. The 'above' is not distant; it is the inner governor of your life, always present, always true.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: In a quiet moment, declare, I am the I AM; I come from above and dwell in that assurance until it feels real. Then revise one current limitation by presenting the higher-self stance as already true in your life.
