The Inner Lord Awakens Action

John 21:7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read John 21 in context

Scripture Focus

7Therefore that disciple whom Jesus loved saith unto Peter, It is the Lord. Now when Simon Peter heard that it was the Lord, he girt his fisher's coat unto him, (for he was naked,) and did cast himself into the sea.
John 21:7

Biblical Context

The beloved disciple recognizes the Lord. Peter, hearing this, clothes himself and casts into the sea, showing quick, devoted action at the moment of divine knowing.

Neville's Inner Vision

In this scene the Lord is not a distant figure but the I AM within you, the present consciousness that recognizes itself as God. When that recognition—spoken by the beloved disciple—arises, your outer self instinctively responds. Peter’s action, securing his garment and leaping into the sea, is the inner mind clothing itself with purpose and rushing toward the fulfillment of its nature. The nakedness of Peter represents a moment when you forget the Self; the act of girt-ing the coat signifies awakening to your true covering, confidence born of knowing you are seen by the Presence. The sea stands for life’s flux, the appearances you navigate. Casting into it is a surrender to the inner guidance that now governs outward feeling and deed. Your real task is to align with this inner Lord immediately, letting obedience and faithfulness follow from the conviction of I AM here, now, within you.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, affirm 'It is the Lord within me now' and feel the I AM as your active presence. Then choose and perform one small action today that proves you are acting from that inner certainty.
