Read John 21 in context

Scripture Focus

15So when they had dined, Jesus saith to Simon Peter, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me more than these? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed my lambs.
John 21:15

Biblical Context

After dinner, Jesus asks Peter if he loves him more than these. Peter replies yes, and Jesus tells him to Feed my lambs.

Neville's Inner Vision

See yourself as the one Jesus speaks to in the same way, the I AM within you answering the question of love. The phrase these points to outward things you boast about, the egoic self you think you are. When you answer I love you, the next move is to Feed my lambs, which Neville interprets as tending the tender parts of your own mind and heart. Feeding is not distant work but the daily act of nurturing love in your inner world. Your work, your vocation, and your witness are the visible expression of a love that has become your state of consciousness. If you imagine and feel from that state, your actions naturally serve others; your inner lambs thrive as you imagine them in light. The test is not more than your willingness to be led by love, not by fear; and the result is a life of purpose, clarity, and service.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Close your eyes and assume the state of love that feeds lambs. Visualize tending and nourishing your inner lambs, then let that feeling inform the next action you take toward others.
