Read John 20 in context

Scripture Focus

9For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.
10Then the disciples went away again unto their own home.
John 20:9-10

Biblical Context

The disciples have not yet grasped the scripture about the resurrection, and they turn away to their own home. This shows how consciousness can drift back into ordinary routines before awakening.

Neville's Inner Vision

John 20:9-10 beckons us to notice that the disciples had not yet read the inner scripture of the resurrection. The disciples are states of consciousness; their so called home is the interior settlement of awareness, and returning home means slipping back into the old self-image. The rising is not a future event in time, but a present awakening of being. When you identify with the old thought and depart to your 'own home,' you are simply stepping away from the truth that you already are. The invitation is to revise: assume that the living Jesus—the risen life—exists now as your I AM. feel the energy of renewed consciousness flowing through you, and rest there until it becomes your normal state. The awakening of consciousness, in Neville's thought, is a creation of belief—a revision of the story you tell yourself. So read the inner scripture, not the outer one; affirm that you are already risen, and let that assurance transform your reactions, choices, and the very sense of home you inhabit.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and declare: I am risen now. Imagine stepping from a tomb of doubt into the bright inner room of I AM and dwell there for a minute, letting that awareness breathe through you.
