Inner Signs of Belief

John 20:30-31 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read John 20 in context

Scripture Focus

30And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book:
31But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.
John 20:30-31

Biblical Context

John notes that Jesus did many signs not written in this book. The purpose of these written signs is that you might believe Jesus is the Christ and, by believing, have life through His name.

Neville's Inner Vision

In Neville's language, the signs Jesus performed publicly are not history to be hunted but inner movements of consciousness. The book that records them is a map to the inner territory you inhabit. The real purpose is to awaken belief: to declare here and now that Jesus is the Christ—the anointed I AM within you. When you believe from that inner identity, life itself flows to you through the name you bear in consciousness. The signs you seek outwardly are already happening inwardly: thoughts align, desires clarify, and vitality surges as you rest in the awareness that you and the Christ are one. The outer miracles, when they appear, are simply confirmations of this inner conviction. You do not travel to receive life; you awaken to life by believing you already possess it. So practice is not hoping for signs but assuming the feeling that the Christ in you is real, that the life described in the Gospel is your daily experience.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Sit comfortably, close your eyes, and in the first person declare, 'I am the Christ within me; I live by His name.' Then feel a steady, aliveness expanding from your heart into every part of you for a minute.
