Biblical Context
Eight days later, Jesus appears to the disciples with Thomas present. He invites Thomas to touch his wounds, urges belief, and he blesses those who believe without having seen.
Neville's Inner Vision
Thomas is the state in you that calls for proof, a shake of the outer mind. The doors being shut is the closed condition of ordinary sense world thinking; yet the I AM, your true self, steps through and speaks peace. When you are invited to touch the wounds, you are invited to feel the inner conviction of healing already accomplished. Be not faithless, but believing means align your whole being with the truth that the Christ within is your immediate reality, not a future event. The blessing pronounced on those who have not seen but believe points to the power of inner sight over outward evidence. The eight days symbolize a deliberate turning inward so that a new state of consciousness can arise. When Thomas proclaims my Lord and my God, you perceive that your self conception has awakened to its divine nature. Your task is to remain in that conviction, letting imagination paint the reality your senses will later confirm.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the feeling of the fulfilled life. Be still in that inner peace as you imagine the outer scene conforming to it.
