Temple of the Inner Body
John 2:21-22 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read John 2 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Jesus speaks of the temple of his body; after his resurrection, the disciples recall his words and come to believe both the scripture and the words Jesus had spoken.
Neville's Inner Vision
In Neville's lens, the temple is not a building but the living consciousness you possess. The 'body' is the temple where the I AM resides, and resurrection is the inner awakening that your remembered words and scriptures are true now. When you interpret the scene as a psychological shift, you see the disciples as your own faculties remembering a truth you already know. The 'scripture' becomes the inner law of possibility you choose to believe, and 'the word which Jesus had said' becomes the living command you persist in hearing within. Thus, the rising from the dead is your return to the certainty that you are the I AM, that your words have power, and that reality bends to your inner state. Believe not in external proofs, but in the memory of the truth you hold within. As you dwell in that inner conviction, your experiences align with the remembered promise, proving the inner word more real than any outward sign.
Practice This Now
Assume you are the temple of God within now; feel the I AM filling your body with life and peace, and revise any fear by declaring, 'I am the temple of the I AM; I remember the truth and live by it.'
