Power From Above Within
John 19:8-12 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Pilate fears his own authority and lingers in a hall of judgments as the crowd presses. Jesus reveals that true power comes from above and is rooted in one's inner consciousness.
Neville's Inner Vision
Pilate’s fear in the scene is your fear, the mind’s dread that power sits outside your I AM. He stands in the judgment hall of opinion, asking, 'Whence art thou?' while the real question is where your I AM sits in charge of what you call power. Jesus’ answer—power to crucify or release comes from above—is a revelation not of politics but of consciousness. The outer Roman governor represents the surface self clinging to control; the higher governor is your awakening sense that all sway and consequence arise by your inner assent. The greater sin is not breaking a law but preferring the appearance of power over the inner reality of God within. When you align with the above, Pilate’s trembling subsides, and the crowd’s cries lose their force, for you know that authority is a function of consciousness, not circumstance. The kingdom of God, then, is your present state that permits events to move within your awareness rather than binding you to fear. So choose the state that speaks from above, and your world will reflect that same elevation.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the inner governor's state. Silently declare: Power from above governs me now; feel fear soften as you stand in that state.
