Power From Above: Inner Authority
John 19:10-11 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read John 19 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Pilate claims earthly power; Jesus says true power comes from above, and the one who handed Jesus over bears the greater sin.
Neville's Inner Vision
See the scene as a drama of inner states. Pilate’s boast of power is a projection of the outer man clinging to control. In Neville’s psychology, that power to crucify or release is only real to the extent your consciousness grants it; the power you fear is a power you gave away to a belief in separation. Jesus answers not with defense but with an interior law: no power exists against your true self except what your state of consciousness permits from the above, the I AM within. The higher authority is not a ruler’s decree but the alignment of attention with the one light that animates all. When you acknowledge that the one who delivered Jesus to the crowd bears the greater sin, you are recognizing that blame and binding judgment reside in inner images you have accepted as real. The call is simple: return your allegiance to the above, and the outer scene becomes a mirror of your inner obedience or resistance. By claiming the internal sovereignty, Providence comes to your aid, guiding you through every seeming crucifixion toward a release into true faith.
Practice This Now
Sit quietly, place your hand on your chest, and declare: I am the power from above; revise any belief that another governs my life. Feel the inner I AM granting authority right now, and let that realignment soften fear and reframe every circumstance as obedient to truth.
