Read John 17 in context

Scripture Focus

15I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.

17Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
John 17:15-17

Biblical Context

Jesus asks that His followers remain in the world but be kept from evil. They are not of the world, and sanctification comes through truth.

Neville's Inner Vision

From the Neville Goddard perspective, these verses are a map of the inner life. The world is not a place to escape; it is a stage upon which your inner state is demonstrated. When Jesus says 'they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world,' I am naming a state of consciousness: you can move through daily life while remaining untouched by fear, doubt, or whatever the world calls 'evil.' To be kept from evil is to be governed by a higher law of thought—the I AM. The phrase 'thy word is truth' becomes my interior law. Truth is not argument but alignment: the assumption that you already are as you wish to be, built upon the immutable fact that you are the voice and instrument of the Divine within. Sanctification is not moral striving but a revision of self-image into the reality of divine nature. As I repeatedly assume the state of truth, my outer world rearranges to reflect that inner decision. I do not flee the world; I baptize the world with the light of my inner conviction.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and repeat: I am not of the world; I am sanctified by truth; thy word is truth. Feel a luminous shield of I AM around you, keeping you safe from every fear and worldly disturbance as you move through your day.
