Biblical Context
Jesus speaks of imparting his joy to believers and of their not belonging to the world. He prays they be kept safe while remaining in the world.
Neville's Inner Vision
Your true self is the I AM, speaking within the Father. The world is a dream of separation; the word given is your living, unchanging truth inside you, by which you live. When you assume this inner state, joy is not something you gain from outside; it is fulfilled in you as your sense of being. You are not of the world, yet you walk in it as the stage on which consciousness demonstrates its nature. The request to keep you from evil is a declaration of your disciplined attention—an inner shield that keeps fear and harm from taking root in your mind. Align with the I AM that is already complete and let that Word renew your sense of self. In practice, imagine yourself already living this separation in consciousness, feeling the joy you claim, while appearances press in. This is holiness: a purified thought-life that remembers its unity with God and refuses to be defined by seeming facts.
Practice This Now
Imaginative_act: Close your eyes, breathe deeply, and assume the joy described as your present state. Repeat 'I am not of this world' until it feels true and let the inner Word guide your responses.
