Depart To Welcome The Comforter
John 16:7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Jesus tells His disciples that His departure is expedient because the Comforter will come only after He goes; the inner presence arrives once the old guidance departs.
Neville's Inner Vision
To Neville, the Discourse becomes the music of the inner man. The departure Jesus speaks of is not a physical leaving, but a releasing of the old consciousness that holds on to outward control. The Comforter is the inner state of awareness—the I AM—that already dwells within you and now becomes available when you stop demanding external signs. When you let the old self go, the inner presence can enter your field of experience as guidance, healing, and truth. Your imagination then acts not as a wish but as the revelation of the already-present I AM. The 'going away' is the indulgence of faith in the unseen turned into the felt reality of this moment. Trust that the Comforter is not distant but simply awaiting your consent to awaken inside your own consciousness. Thus, by a simple shift of state, you invite the Spirit to illuminate your thoughts, reorder your feelings, and lead you into your true salvation.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and declare 'I AM the Comforter within me.' See yourself stepping through a door, releasing the old self, and inviting inner guidance to fill your being.
