Hatred, Sin, and Inner Revelation

John 15:22-25 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read John 15 in context

Scripture Focus

22If I had not come and spoken unto them, they had not had sin: but now they have no cloak for their sin.
23He that hateth me hateth my Father also.
24If I had not done among them the works which none other man did, they had not had sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.
25But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.
John 15:22-25

Biblical Context

Jesus explains that his coming and the works he did reveal sin; without him, people might be innocent, but now they are exposed. Hatred toward him is hatred toward the Father, and the law’s word is fulfilled by their enmity without cause.

Neville's Inner Vision

From the Neville vantage, the 'they' are not external persons but inner states of consciousness. When you come into a situation with spoke words and deeds, you reveal the sin you hold: the unrevealed belief of separation from your I AM. The 'cloak' is the veil of identity not yet awakened; once you assume the state of awareness that sees all as one, old sins lose their power. Hatred toward 'me' in the story is simply inner resistance to your own higher Self; you project it onto the speaker and the Father, but it is your fear about being all you are. The 'works' you think you cannot do become proof of a new inner state; inhabiting that state dissolves the old self and its judgments. The fulfilled word in their law is the inner law that every state broadcasts its own consequences. To experience this now, know you are the one commanding the scenes—your assumptions are the cause, your feelings the test, and the revelation the result.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Sit quietly, breathe, and assume the state 'I am the I AM' present in all you behold. Then revise a recent grievance by silently affirming, 'I and the Father are one; there is no opposite in my world,' feeling that truth until it seems real.
