Read John 15 in context

Scripture Focus

10If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
11These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full.
John 15:10-11

Biblical Context

John 15:10-11 says that if you keep Jesus' commandments, you remain in his love, and that remaining love fills you with fullness of joy.

Neville's Inner Vision

John 15:10-11 whispers the truth that obedience is a state of consciousness, not a list of outward acts. When I say keep my commandments, I am inviting you to keep the reality that you are already loved by the Father. You abide in that love by living from the I AM, by imagining yourself as kept and held in divine affection. The commandment to love becomes your inner posture; you act from a feeling-state that you continually revise until it becomes your habitual reality. The Father’s love is not distant, it is your present awareness; to abide is to dwell in that inner atmosphere where joy is the natural tone. Your joy remains in you, and when you refuse to depart from this inner state, your joy becomes full. Remember, the moment you assume the feeling of being loved and guided, you are obeying the inner law, and the visible world simply reflects that inner light. Abiding is a choice of consciousness; the commandments are the continuous practice of that love.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and declare, 'I am kept in love; I am the I AM in whom the Father delights.' Then feel it real by dwelling in that state for a minute, letting joy rise as your natural condition.
