Inner Presence of John 13:33

John 13:33 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read John 13 in context

Scripture Focus

33Little children, yet a little while I am with you. Ye shall seek me: and as I said unto the Jews, Whither I go, ye cannot come; so now I say to you.
John 13:33

Biblical Context

Jesus says his time with them is short and that they will seek him. He adds that where he is going they cannot follow.

Neville's Inner Vision

John 13:33 is a doorway to the inner kingdom. 'Little children' signals the newborn consciousness that believes in separation; 'yet a little while I am with you' points to the temporary closeness of a personified presence. The true guide is awareness itself—the I AM within you. When you are told to seek me, the invitation is to seek not a man walking beside you but the Presence you are. The line 'Whither I go, ye cannot come' indicates that the old self cannot enter the higher state of consciousness where the I AM dwells; your task is to revise the sense of self until you realize you are already where you would go—inside the monarch of awareness. Jesus’ departure becomes liberation from dependence on an outer guide and the birth of inner sight. The real journey is from absence to fullness, from the seen to the unseen, from separation to the one I AM that you are.

Practice This Now

Assume you are already standing in the Presence within; feel the I AM surrounding you as you would a warm light.
