Inner Servant Leadership Practice
John 13:12-17 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read John 13 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Jesus washes the disciples' feet and instructs them to wash one another's feet, teaching that true greatness and leadership come through humble service and obedience.
Neville's Inner Vision
In this scene, the foot washing is a symbolic act of inner cleansing. The Master and Lord serves, showing that true authority arises from humility within the I AM. To know these things and neglect the doing is to miss the point; to do them is to align your inner state with the eternal law of love. When he says the servant is not greater than his lord, hear it as a call to recognize that your external role is only a function of your inner state. The real power is willingness to serve; the inner act of washing away pride and judgment brings unity of consciousness. As you consider neighbor and circumstance as one I AM, you dissolve separation and allow guidance and blessing to move through you. The washing becomes a daily revision of self, a practice where you assume humility, and feel the truth of unity already present within you.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the servant's posture; visualize washing a neighbor's feet in your mind, feel humility and love flowing through you, and rest in the I AM—the true self that serves through you.
