Inner Praise Over Public Approval

John 12:42-43 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read John 12 in context

Scripture Focus

42Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue:
43For they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.
John 12:42-43

Biblical Context

Many rulers believed in Jesus, but they kept silent because they feared the Pharisees and prized human approval over divine approval.

Neville's Inner Vision

Here the scene is a mirror of the inner mind. The rulers’ belief is true in the sense of an awakening, yet their confession is blocked by a deeper allegiance to the fear of loss—loss of synagogue, of status, of belonging to the crowd. Neville would say belief is not an event in the outer world, but a state of consciousness you inhabit. The 'praise of men' is the counterfeit God you have worshiped in place of the I AM within. To change it, you do not persuade others; you assume a new inner identity and let it feel real. Enter the feeling of being already loved and approved by God, an inner confession that no outward threat can invalidate. As you dwell in that awareness, the external voice loses its power and will naturally align with your inner truth. In short, faith is a consistent inner alignment with God, not a polite public proclamation.

Practice This Now

Assume you are already loved by God; feel the inner praise as real; let the I AM declare 'I am' until the outward confession follows as a natural expression.
