Read John 12 in context

Scripture Focus

31Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out.
32And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.
33This he said, signifying what death he should die.
John 12:31-33

Biblical Context

John 12:31-33 speaks of a present judgment on the world and the casting out of the ruler of this world; it also records Jesus' statement that being lifted up will draw all humanity to him.

Neville's Inner Vision

Notice that the 'world' in these lines is not a distant geography but your current state of consciousness. The 'prince' who rules this world is the habit of separation—the ego's voice that tells you you are not one with the I AM. When you hear, 'Now is the judgment of this world,' you are being invited to withdraw attention from old scripts and to stand in the awareness that judges nothing—only to be aware. The phrase 'if I am lifted up from the earth' points to a rising of consciousness, an inward crucifixion of cherished beliefs, so that the center of life is held by the I AM. As you lift, the power of the world loses its dominion, and you begin to draw all facets of yourself toward that single light; the 'death' is the old separative self dying, not destruction but translation into a higher field of reality. Reinforce this by assuming that the lifted I AM now governs you; feel it real, revise any fear as already resolved in that light, and watch the world respond as all beings are drawn by your inner sight to the truth you inhabit.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Close your eyes, take a slow breath, and declare, 'I AM lifted up—above the old world and its ruler.' Let that feeling settle for a minute; then revised fear as already resolved and observe your life drawn toward this light.
