Inner Works and Divine Oneness

John 10:37-38 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read John 10 in context

Scripture Focus

37If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.
38But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.
John 10:37-38

Biblical Context

The passage says belief should come from the works of the Father through Jesus. If not, believe the works so you may know the Father is in Jesus, and Jesus is in the Father.

Neville's Inner Vision

John 10:37-38 is not asking for outward signs but inviting you to discover the divine presence within as the source of all deeds. The 'works' are inner movements of consciousness—decisions, acts of courage, empathy, alignment with truth—that disclose the Father within you. When you identify yourself as the I AM, and you persist in feeling that identity, the boundary between you and the Father dissolves: the Father is in you, and you are in Him. Belief ceases being a conclusion about Jesus and becomes a lived state of witness: you know through the inner demonstration that your life is the expression of the divine life. The Bible says, believe the works; I say, know the oneness by rehearsing the inner works until your feeling-threshold shifts from doubt to assurance. In that silent room of consciousness, you are both the instrument and the revelation. The external world then reflects this inner alignment, and your life becomes a continuous, faithful manifestation of the Father’s presence.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Close your eyes and assume the feeling, 'The Father is in me, and I am in Him.' Visualize a simple 'work' reflecting divine life today, and feel the union as it unfolds.
