Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
John 10:1-5 presents Jesus describing the true entry by the door, the shepherd who leads, and the sheep who know his voice; they follow since they recognize the shepherd and flee from strangers.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within every consciousness stands the door of awareness, and the true shepherd is the I AM that knows your name. The entry by the door is not external, but a state you assume; when you enter thus, the porter of your mind opens to the shepherd who leads your inner flock. The sheep hear his voice as a felt certainty, not as a sound outside you, and they follow because the voice aligns with your essential Self. The stranger's voice represents thoughts and desires that would separate you from your inner guide; you know not that voice, for it lacks the resonance of truth. To climb in by another way is to resist your nature and invite confusion; to listen and follow is to move in harmony with your true purpose. As you align with the shepherd, you walk ahead into fields of fulfillment, and your sense of identity shifts from doubt to confident leading. In this way the parable becomes your inner practice: hear, trust, and follow the I AM that speaks within.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and imagine the inner door opening. Hear the shepherd's voice call you by name and feel yourself following, led by the I AM within.
