Doorway to the Inner Shepherd

John 10:1-2 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read John 10 in context

Scripture Focus

1Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
2But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
John 10:1-2

Biblical Context

John 10:1-2 contrasts entering by the door with climbing in another way; the true shepherd belongs to the sheepfold and guards the flock.

Neville's Inner Vision

Beloved, do not look outward for a gate, for the gate into your kingdom is a state of consciousness. The thief who climbs in another way is any thought, fear, or craving that asserts supremacy outside the IAM. The shepherd is the inner guide, the Christ within, who tends the flock of your awareness when you enter by the door of pure being. When you accept that your true identity is IAM, presence that cannot be broken, you pass through the door and find the shepherd already within directing your steps. The external scene, the people, the conditions, are but symbols of your inner dispositions. If you feel lack, revise: IAM; I stand at the door as gatekeeper and gate. The Shepherd does not come from without; he is your consciousness animated by love, truth, and faithfulness. By daily practice you permit him to lead: you align feeling, thought, and imagination with the truth of your unity with God, and the kingdom arises in your heart.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Close your eyes, breathe, and imagine a golden doorway within your chest. Step through it and invite the inner shepherd to lead you, repeatedly affirming IAM the door and IAM the shepherd.
