Door Within the Flock

John 10:1-10 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read John 10 in context

Scripture Focus

1Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
2But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
3To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.
4And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.
5And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.
6This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them.
7Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.
8All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.
9I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
10The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
John 10:1-10

Biblical Context

The passage presents entering by the door as the true path to life. The door and the shepherd denote the same inner path guiding the flock.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within your daily waking, the door is a state of awareness, and the shepherd is the living I AM that leads you. The thieves are the beliefs that climb over the wall—claims of lack, fear, or limitation—yet they cannot open the fold. When you affirm that you are the door, you become the conduit through which life enters and exits, and the inner porter attends to your posture of attention. Hear the voice that calls you by name and know it belongs to your own imagination—your intimate guidance that knows your true path. To enter by the door is not conquest of external circumstance but alignment of consciousness: you go in and out into your day, finding pasture in the present moment. Life then is not a distant possession but a lived reality, abundant because you are aware of your wholeness. Trust that the shepherd goes before you, and you will not follow strangers, for their voices fade when you embody the I AM and listen within.

Practice This Now

Imitate the door for a moment: close your eyes and declare, I am the door through which life enters. Then listen for the inner voice of your shepherd for 60 seconds and allow your sense of abundance to rise.
