Witnessing the Light Within

John 1:7-9 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read John 1 in context

Scripture Focus

7The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
8He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
9That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
John 1:7-9

Biblical Context

The passage speaks of a witness who testifies to the Light so that all might believe, and clarifies that the Light itself is the deeper source, not the messenger alone.

Neville's Inner Vision

In these verses, the true Light is not a distant object but the living I AM within you. The one who bears witness is your own capacity to witness, to turn attention toward the Light, and in that act, belief arises as the mind recognizes what is already true. The messenger serves to point to the Light, not to own it; you are the vessel through which this illumination is declared. When you align with this inner Light, trust and faith awaken, unfazed by appearances, for the Light is the constant presence that enlightens every heart when you affirm your unity with it. The sense that others believe is the natural ripple of your inner conviction, for the Light you witness is the Light that simultaneously enlightens all. This is a call to shift from seeking Light externally to embodying it as your true nature, here and now.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, assume the I AM is the Light you are; feel a warm glow in your chest and declare, 'I am the Light that enlightens every man that comes into the world.'
