Witness to the Inner Light
John 1:6-13 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
John the Baptist bears witness to the Light; the Light is in every person, and those who receive and believe become the sons of God. It is not the Light itself, but the witness who points to it.
Neville's Inner Vision
John in this passage is not a separate man but a state of consciousness within you, sent by God to testify to the Light. The Light is your I AM, the living awareness that illuminates every moment. When the mind awakens to this Light, belief arises not in a person named John, but in the truth that you are light itself declaring, 'I AM.' The world may fail to recognize this Light, just as the world did not know Him; that failure reflects old identifications, not the truth of your nature. To those who receive the Light, to those who choose to believe on the name of their inner witness, God grants power to become sons of God—an authority rooted in the realization that you are not born of blood, nor of flesh, nor of human will, but of God. This birth is simply a shift of identification from outward appearances to the inside reality of God-awareness. Your witnessing John is the discipline of consistent inner assent to the truth of who you are. When you favor this inner recognition, the outer world begins to reflect your birth.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Sit quietly, declare, 'I am the Light that lighteth every man; I am born of God now,' and feel the rise of divine birth as your present reality.
