John 1:40-42 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Biblical Context
Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, hears John and brings his brother to Jesus; Jesus looks at him and renames him Cephas, Peter.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within you, the inner Andrew hears the witness of John and moves to introduce another aspect of self to the Christ. The man Simon becomes Peter as the consciousness recognizes its own rock-like nature. When Jesus beholds him and speaks Cephas, the Aramaic for stone, the message is clear: in your own awareness, the perceived weakness of separation is turned to steadfast presence. Andrew's action—finding his brother and leading him to Jesus—parallels the inner act of bringing a belief to the field of awareness where Christ speaks. The naming is not historical record but a revision of your state of consciousness: once you acknowledge the messiah within, the Christ named Peter anchors your life, giving you footing to witness and to love. Faith becomes steady action; trust becomes an assignment to live as the Christ in action; and the community of your mind expands as each part is drawn to its rightful place in the whole.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit quietly, close your eyes, and imagine Andrew presenting you to Jesus within your own mind; declare, 'You are Cephas—the rock of my Christ life,' and feel the firm, loving realization settling in your chest.
