Spirit Descends: You as Son of God
John 1:32-34 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read John 1 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
John records the Spirit descending and resting on Jesus, and identifies Jesus as the Son of God. The passage points to an inner state of awareness and fidelity that you can claim in the present.
Neville's Inner Vision
John’s witness is not a report about a man in time, but a map of a state of consciousness you may enter now. The Spirit descending like a dove and remaining on Jesus is the inner sign that awareness has settled, that your I AM has drawn the Spirit into expression. Jesus appears as the demonstration of your own divine state when the Spirit rests within you—presence made visible as action, fidelity, and truth. The line I knew him not marks the awakening: you do not recognize your own divinity until the inner directive confirms where the Spirit abides. The voice that says upon whom you shall see the Spirit descending and remaining on him becomes your inner guide—telling you that the one who baptizes with the Holy Spirit is the I AM within you, the life that births imagination into reality. Therefore, the Son of God is not a distant figure but your present self-awareness—the God within, fully dwelling as your daily experience.
Practice This Now
Assume the Spirit has descended and remains on you right now; feel the calm weight on your chest as your awareness declares I am the I AM. Stay with that sensation until it becomes your present experience.
