Biblical Context
John 1:14-18 presents the Word becoming flesh and dwelling among us, revealing divine glory full of grace and truth; we receive grace upon grace as the inner self declares God through the Word, surpassing the old law.
Neville's Inner Vision
The passage invites you to see the Word as the I AM speaking within your own consciousness. The flesh is the form your attention wears as you dwell in that I AM; the Word dwelling among us is your awareness taking up residence in the present moment. When you behold the glory, you are witnessing the inner presence of God—grace and truth streaming into your experience. John’s witness becomes your inner recognition that the eternal self precedes all appearances, the one who comes after you and is before you, because the I AM always was. From this fullness you have received grace after grace, a succession of awakenings to inner abundance. The contrast with the law of Moses marks a shift from external rules to an inward realization: grace and truth are not distant promises but inner states you awaken to now. No one has seen God in the external sense; the Son within the heart declares Him, revealing the hidden God as your true I AM. This is not distant history but a living act of consciousness you can inhabit today.
Practice This Now
Sit quietly and assume you are the Word made flesh, dwelling in your own heart. Feel grace and truth as your immediate experience, and revise any sense of lack by declaring I AM and allowing fullness to manifest here and now.
