Inner Birth of God Within

John 1:12-13 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read John 1 in context

Scripture Focus

12But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
13Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
John 1:12-13

Biblical Context

The verse says that receiving Christ grants power to become the sons of God. True birth comes from God, not from blood, flesh, or human will.

Neville's Inner Vision

Receive Him means invite the inner Christ to awaken in you; your mind becomes a doorway. The son of God is a present state of consciousness, not a genealogical claim. To believe on His name is to believe in the I AM that you are, the divine name that wakes within every heartbeat. The birth spoken of is not of blood or flesh, but of God—the interior creation of your being by the eternal, ever-present I AM. When you stand in that realization, you are not growing into someone new; you are recognizing who you are already. The power to become is the power of assumption; by imagining and abiding in the feeling of sonship, you rewrite your past as seen from that divine birth. Your outer world then reflects your inner birth, and grace flows as natural as morning light. Practice is simple: in quiet, declare I am the Son of God, assume the state, and feel it now, until the sense of separation dissolves.

Practice This Now

For 5 minutes, quiet, assume the state 'I am the Son of God' and feel the inner presence. If doubt arises, revise it by affirming 'born of God' until the birth feels real.
