Biblical Context
John 1:1-18 presents the Logos as the eternal Life that creates and lights the world; the Word with God, the Word as God, and the Word becoming flesh reveal how reality is formed by inner knowing. Those who receive the Light are made sons of God.
Neville's Inner Vision
Viewed through Neville's lens, this prologue is a map of inner consciousness. The Word is not a distant person but a living state of awareness—the I AM—that was with God and was God, always present in your experience. In the beginning denotes the timeless posture of awareness that precedes form; all things were made by this Word because every event in your life springs from the still, inner declaration you hold as true. In Him was life; your inner life is the light by which you see. The light shines in darkness—your doubt and fear—yet darkness cannot comprehend it, for the light of your awareness exposes what you have believed and dissolves it. John is the witness within you, not to condemn but to point you to the Light you already are. To as many as received Him, to them gave He power to become the sons of God—this is the shift from appearance to the fact of God within. The Word was made flesh in Jesus, and that same Word is made flesh in your world whenever you live from the I AM and grant grace and truth to yourself.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: sit quietly and assume you already are the son or daughter of God, with the Word alive in you. Dwell in that awareness for a few minutes, and let the light of grace reshape your inner story until it becomes your outer experience.
