Inner Gathering of Nations

Joel 3:1-8 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Joel 3 in context

Scripture Focus

1For, behold, in those days, and in that time, when I shall bring again the captivity of Judah and Jerusalem,
2I will also gather all nations, and will bring them down into the valley of Jehoshaphat, and will plead with them there for my people and for my heritage Israel, whom they have scattered among the nations, and parted my land.
3And they have cast lots for my people; and have given a boy for an harlot, and sold a girl for wine, that they might drink.
4Yea, and what have ye to do with me, O Tyre, and Zidon, and all the coasts of Palestine? will ye render me a recompence? and if ye recompense me, swiftly and speedily will I return your recompence upon your own head;
5Because ye have taken my silver and my gold, and have carried into your temples my goodly pleasant things:
6The children also of Judah and the children of Jerusalem have ye sold unto the Grecians, that ye might remove them far from their border.
7Behold, I will raise them out of the place whither ye have sold them, and will return your recompence upon your own head:
8And I will sell your sons and your daughters into the hand of the children of Judah, and they shall sell them to the Sabeans, to a people far off: for the LORD hath spoken it.
Joel 3:1-8

Biblical Context

The passage envisions God gathering nations to plead for His people and promises restoration and recompense for Judah and Jerusalem.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within this oracle, Joel speaks as though the nations themselves are currents within your mind. The 'I will gather all nations' is the I AM gathering every scattered thought, every fear, every sense of separation, into the valley of Jehoshaphat—the clearing where you finally confront what your attention has hidden. The complaint that 'they have cast lots for my people' and the harsh exchanges are symbolic images of how, in your dream of life, you have traded your inner wealth for appearances, thinking you are not enough or that others control your fate. When you hear 'Behold, I will raise them out of the place whither ye have sold them,' acknowledge that you can reclaim every fragment by returning to where your consciousness dwells—the one light that breathes you. The 'recompence' is not punishment but the restoration of wholeness; the land becomes your inner field of experience, and your children (the creative energies) are not sold but redirected to the service of your true kingdom. The Lord hath spoken it, and in this moment, you can believe it and feel it real, here and now.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Close your eyes and imagine the 'nations' gathered in the valley of your awareness; affirm, 'I am the I AM, and all parts of me are restored to wholeness.' Sit with that feeling until it feels real.
