Joel 2:31-32 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Joel 2 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The text speaks of signs in the heavens before the LORD's day and promises deliverance to all who call on the LORD. Deliverance comes from within, where Zion and Jerusalem dwell in consciousness.
Neville's Inner Vision
In this passage, the sun and moon are not celestial phenomena but inner states of consciousness. Their turning to darkness and blood symbolizes a radical shift in awareness, a breaking open of old pictures and beliefs. The great and terrible day is the moment your mind encounters its own anticipated catastrophe and discovers that the true observer, the I AM, remains untouched by appearances. When it says that whosoever shall call on the name of the LORD shall be delivered, reinterpret as calling upon the I AM within you—the divine awareness that you truly are—and invite deliverance into your experience. 'In mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance' becomes your inner sanctuary, the seat of awareness where harmony is restored. The remnant whom the LORD shall call is the faithful faculty of attention that chooses the truth of your divine nature over fear. This is a blueprint for consciousness: shift from fear to settled knowing, and allow the deliverance you seek to rise from within, guided by the I AM and its steadfast wholeness.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Assume you are already delivered; feel the I AM as the center of your Zion within, and state your assurance until it resonates through your whole being.
