Biblical Context
Joel 2:28-32 speaks of a universal outpouring of the Spirit that enables prophecy, dreams, and visions, with deliverance for those who call on the Lord.
Neville's Inner Vision
All that is described is the inner movement of consciousness. The outpouring of the Spirit upon all flesh corresponds to the awakening of your I AM presence in every state. 'Your sons shall prophesy' and 'your old men dream dreams' and 'your young men see visions' are not external events but shifts of inner awareness—prophecy as intuitive knowing, dreams as creative images, visions as inner sight. The signs in heaven and earth, the sun and moon darkness, are inner weather that accompanies a rising awareness. The day of the LORD is the turning of attention toward the truth within, not a threat; and 'whosoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be delivered' is the moment you remember the I AM within as your deliverance, your Zion, your Jerusalem—the place of conscious realization. This is the drama of your own consciousness awakening to its own power to create and redeem.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: In the next moment, assume the feeling of being filled with Spirit and declare, 'I am the I AM; I prophesy, dream, and see visions now.' Relax and observe the arising images for insight.
