Contending With Infinite Wisdom
Job 9:3 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Job 9 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse asserts that arguing with God is futile; human argument cannot reach or overturn divine wisdom within the soul.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within Job's terse warning lies an invitation: cease contending with the God-state within. If you attempt to argue with the I AM, you lose every time, for your mind measures by reason, while the I AM measures by certainty. The 'one of a thousand' points to the futility of naming or rebutting Infinite Wisdom with finite words. When you refuse to argue and instead assume the feeling of your own I AM as the living reality, you inaugurate the only true authority in your life. Imagination then becomes the instrument by which you revise conditions: you do not seek to change external events, you become the steady, aware presence that knows they are already resolved in consciousness. Your humility is not defeat; it is the gateway to discernment, providence, and a truth that endures beyond circumstance. In this light, truth is faithful and guided by an unseen hand that your awareness can abide by.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, breathe, and assume the state: I am the I AM, the wise witness. Feel the relief of surrender and imagine the desired condition already lived in consciousness.
