Job 9:22-24 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Job 9 in context

Scripture Focus

22This is one thing, therefore I said it, He destroyeth the perfect and the wicked.
23If the scourge slay suddenly, he will laugh at the trial of the innocent.
24The earth is given into the hand of the wicked: he covereth the faces of the judges thereof; if not, where, and who is he?
Job 9:22-24

Biblical Context

Job 9:22–24 presents a scene where both the righteous and the wicked seem destroyed, calamity strikes the innocent, and justice itself appears hidden in the hands of the powerful.

Neville's Inner Vision

In these verses, the apparent external chaos points to inner states of consciousness. The ‘perfect’ and the ‘wicked’ are not separate people but opposite thoughts within you. When you say the earth is given into the hand of the wicked, you are naming a belief that life is ruled by impersonal forces apart from your I AM. The scourge that slays suddenly becomes the emergence of fear within your own mind, and you do not battle it; you acknowledge its presence and revise your stance from separation to unity. If the faces of the judges are covered, see this as a veil over your ability to perceive truth clearly; lift it by acknowledging your unity with God, the I AM that sees through appearances. The question 'where is He?' dissolves as you realize He is the awareness in which all events move. Your practice is to assume a state of invincible inner authority, wherein all experiences are rearranged to reflect your true sovereignty and love.

Practice This Now

Take a moment to close your eyes, breathe, and affirm, 'I am the I AM; within me all events are governed by divine consciousness.' Then revise one ongoing situation to reflect your unity with God and invite harmony into the scene.
