Job 8:5-6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Job 8 in context

Scripture Focus

5If thou wouldest seek unto God betimes, and make thy supplication to the Almighty;
6If thou wert pure and upright; surely now he would awake for thee, and make the habitation of thy righteousness prosperous.
Job 8:5-6

Biblical Context

Job teaches that true seeking and prayer occur when one is pure and upright. Then God would awaken for you and prosper the habitation of your righteousness.

Neville's Inner Vision

When Job speaks of seeking God betimes and supplication to the Almighty, he invites you to turn your attention to the I AM within, the constant awareness you actually are. 'Betimes' marks the timely alignment of your inner state with your desired outcome, for the Almighty is not a distant power but the very life of consciousness in which you live. Purity and uprightness are not priggish standards; they are the clarity of your desire—an undisturbed, honest intention to live from your true Self. As you maintain that alignment, God wakes within you; the phrase 'awake for thee' means your awareness closes the gap between intention and manifestation. The 'habitation of thy righteousness' is the atmosphere you sustain in mind—the world as your inner temple. The principle at work is the creative law: imagination expresses what you hold to be true in your heart. So dwell in the feeling of being already righteous and prosperous, and allow the outer conditions to echo that inner state. You are not seeking God; you are becoming the very consciousness that God is.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and affirm, 'I am one with the I AM; I seek God within and wake to prosperity now.' Hold the feeling of that inner alignment until it becomes natural, then move through your day from that assured state.
