Arrows Within Job 6:4

Job 6:4 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Job 6 in context

Scripture Focus

4For the arrows of the Almighty are within me, the poison whereof drinketh up my spirit: the terrors of God do set themselves in array against me.
Job 6:4

Biblical Context

Job describes feeling as if the Almighty shoots arrows into his inner life. A poison drains his spirit, and the terrors of God seem arrayed against him.

Neville's Inner Vision

Picture this: you are the I AM, not a victim of external wrath, but the living awareness that perceives every sensation as a signal of your own state. The 'arrows of the Almighty' are moving thoughts—images and impulses you have invited into your awareness. The 'poison' that drinketh up your spirit is the belief that the self is under siege, a thought-form you gave power to by focusing fear. When you claim the I AM as the source and endpoint of all experience, those arrows become directional energy guiding you toward awakenings you already possess. The terrors of God, too, are not outside forces but patterns of consciousness that arise when you forget who you are. By steadfastly dwelling in the single fact: I AM, you revise the scene. You do not resist; you return to awareness and reinterpret every sensation as a step toward clarity. As you persist in the assumption that the divine life is in you and around you, the inner tumult subsides and a new equilibrium emerges.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and declare, I AM the witness of all, arrows as directed energy of my own awareness. Revise the scene now by feeling that these thoughts urge your growth, and let the sense of attack dissolve into insight.
