Inner Deliverance Now
Job 5:19-23 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Job 5 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Job 5:19-23 promises divine deliverance amid many troubles. It speaks of protection and fearless peace that come when the mind rests in God's presence.
Neville's Inner Vision
See Job 5:19-23 as a map of your inner weather. The troubles are not external enemies but movements within your own consciousness. When you affirm the I AM—the living Presence you are—the deliverance spoken of becomes your inner state, not a distant rescue. Six troubles become six doorways for rest in your true state; seven evils cannot touch you because your attention is fixed in the Presence. Famine and war are symbolic of scarcity and conflict in mind; redemption from death means replacing fear with the awareness of life that is eternally now. The scourge of the tongue and the dread of destruction lose their power when you withdraw belief from them and retreat into the hidden place where Providence reigns. In that quiet you laugh at destruction and famine; the beasts of the field and the stones of the field bend to your new inner law, becoming witnesses of harmony. You live inside this Presence of God, and the deliverance described is your own consciousness waking to its true light.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume, 'I am delivered from every trouble; no evil touches me.' Feel the presence of Providence in your chest and let it radiate through your surroundings until your outer world mirrors your inner certainty.
