Biblical Context
Fear and trembling seize the speaker; a passing spirit is seen but not clearly discerned. An image stands before him in silence, and a voice speaks.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within Job's trembling you are not observing a distant event; you are reading your own states of consciousness. The fear is not an external threat but the initial signal that you have entered a new, unformed state of awareness. The passing spirit, the hair that stands on end, the dim image and the quiet voice are all inner phenomena—movements of your I AM, the one consciousness that you are. When you cannot discern the form, you are being asked to drop reliance on the old pictures and to listen for the inner directive. Notice that the 'voice' is not coming from somewhere outside you; it arises from within, as a suggestion of a new possibility that you can become, if you assume it. The presence of God is not a person but the awareness in which all forms appear. The real prophecy is the alignment with a state of consciousness that knows itself as I AM. The moment you suppose 'I am this,' your outer world begins to shift to reflect that inner state. Practice this now: if fear arises, revise the scene by affirming, 'I am consciousness; I am the I Am; this fear dissolves into awareness.'
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: In the next moment, close your eyes, breathe into stillness, and revise the scene by calling, 'I am the I AM; I stand in this truth now.' See the inner image of your desired state appear and hear the silent voice confirming it.
