Notice that the quiver rattleth against him, the glittering spear and the shield are not outside objects pressed upon a creature, but symbols in your own mind. The 'him' is the you that believes in separation; the quiver is the restless thought that moves through consciousness. When you hear the glittering spear, feel the shield, you are hearing the very tools of your inner armory awakening, responding to your state of imagination. In Neville's language, Job’s battlefield is the field of your own I AM, the awareness that never sleeps. Providence and Guidance are not distant acts but the law moving within your psyche, arranging images in harmony with your assumed feeling. Yet this is spiritual warfare only in the sense that you resist allowing older states to govern you. To change the scene, you must revise the inner script: imagine the armory as ready to serve righteousness, and place yourself under the shield of the I AM. When you dwell in that state—feeling the truth that you are the I AM—the external clatter subsides into quiet certainty, and your reality yields to your new state.
