Inner Light Pathways

Job 38:19-21 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Job 38 in context

Scripture Focus

19Where is the way where light dwelleth? and as for darkness, where is the place thereof,
20That thou shouldest take it to the bound thereof, and that thou shouldest know the paths to the house thereof?
21Knowest thou it, because thou wast then born? or because the number of thy days is great?
Job 38:19-21

Biblical Context

Job 38:19–21 asks where light and darkness reside and whether we truly know the way by birth or length of days; it points to inner awareness as the source of illumination.

Neville's Inner Vision

Observe that light and darkness are not places in a map but states of consciousness. The question Where is the way where light dwelleth? asks you to locate the interior path you can enter by faith in your own I AM. Darkness is not an enemy to be defeated outdoors; it is a neglected area of thought, a resistance to present awareness. When you know the way, you know it by choice, not by number of days; you rise from the belief that your days dictate your illumination. Light is the act of imagining the truth you desire; darkness is the old habit of doubt lingering in the corners of your mind. The paths to the house thereof become mental pathways you walk by feeling your desirable state as already yours. Therefore, conceive of yourself as the one who lights the room, not as the observer of the dark. Your birth and days are irrelevant to the creation of now; what matters is your present assumption and the feeling of its truth guiding every step.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: In a quiet moment, close your eyes and assume the state I am the light that illuminates my world. Feel the warmth of the path beneath your feet as you walk toward the house of light, now.
