Morning Light And The Inner World

Job 38:12-23 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Job 38 in context

Scripture Focus

12Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days; and caused the dayspring to know his place;
13That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it?
14It is turned as clay to the seal; and they stand as a garment.
15And from the wicked their light is withholden, and the high arm shall be broken.
16Hast thou entered into the springs of the sea? or hast thou walked in the search of the depth?
17Have the gates of death been opened unto thee? or hast thou seen the doors of the shadow of death?
18Hast thou perceived the breadth of the earth? declare if thou knowest it all.
19Where is the way where light dwelleth? and as for darkness, where is the place thereof,
20That thou shouldest take it to the bound thereof, and that thou shouldest know the paths to the house thereof?
21Knowest thou it, because thou wast then born? or because the number of thy days is great?
22Hast thou entered into the treasures of the snow? or hast thou seen the treasures of the hail,
23Which I have reserved against the time of trouble, against the day of battle and war?
Job 38:12-23

Biblical Context

The verses describe God asking Job about morning, dawn, the depths, and hidden treasures, showing that true order and light come from a higher ground beyond human grip.

Neville's Inner Vision

All this talk of morning, seas, doors of death, and treasuries is not about external facts but about your inner states. When you feel that you command the dawn of your life, you are recognizing you are the author of light and darkness in your world. The 'ends of the earth' and the 'breadth of the earth' become the limits and breadth of your own consciousness. The 'treasures of the snow' are the latent riches stored within you, reserved for the time of trouble when you align your imagination with the I AM. The 'day of battle' is your inner conflict between old beliefs and the new consciousness you claim by consciousness. God’s question—'Hast thou entered into...'—is simply the invitation to shift your awareness from external wonder to inward certainty that you are the one who names what is light and what is dark. When you quietly accept that the light and the shadow are but states of consciousness you inhabit, your outer world rearranges to reflect your inner state.

Practice This Now

Assume the dawn is yours to command; close your eyes and declare, 'I am the dawn; the light of my awareness rewrites my world.' Dwell in that feeling until the day unfolds from your inner I AM.
