Look Within, Higher Judgment

Job 35:2-16 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Job 35 in context

Scripture Focus

2Thinkest thou this to be right, that thou saidst, My righteousness is more than God's?
3For thou saidst, What advantage will it be unto thee? and, What profit shall I have, if I be cleansed from my sin?
4I will answer thee, and thy companions with thee.
5Look unto the heavens, and see; and behold the clouds which are higher than thou.
6If thou sinnest, what doest thou against him? or if thy transgressions be multiplied, what doest thou unto him?
7If thou be righteous, what givest thou him? or what receiveth he of thine hand?
8Thy wickedness may hurt a man as thou art; and thy righteousness may profit the son of man.
9By reason of the multitude of oppressions they make the oppressed to cry: they cry out by reason of the arm of the mighty.
10But none saith, Where is God my maker, who giveth songs in the night;
11Who teacheth us more than the beasts of the earth, and maketh us wiser than the fowls of heaven?
12There they cry, but none giveth answer, because of the pride of evil men.
13Surely God will not hear vanity, neither will the Almighty regard it.
14Although thou sayest thou shalt not see him, yet judgment is before him; therefore trust thou in him.
15But now, because it is not so, he hath visited in his anger; yet he knoweth it not in great extremity:
16Therefore doth Job open his mouth in vain; he multiplieth words without knowledge.
Job 35:2-16

Biblical Context

Elihu rebukes Job for claiming righteousness above God's and asks what advantage there is in self-cleansing. He points to the heavens and higher states of consciousness, saying true discernment comes only by trust in the maker, not by vain words.

Neville's Inner Vision

Think of Job 35:2-16 as your inner weather map. The heavens and clouds symbolize higher states of consciousness you can enter by an inner decision. When you declare that your righteousness is greater than God's, you identify with a tiny self and separate yourself from the maker within. The I AM is the true builder of your world; the judgment before him is an inner measure of your current state, not a decree from without. Look within to the higher sights, and listen for the songs in the night that come from a calm, intimate awareness. Do not feed vanity; God will not answer it, because it is the voice of limitation. Instead, revise your thoughts to align with that inner maker, and trust that your life will move in harmony with the higher law. Suffering and oppression then become invitations to shift state rather than proofs of fate; as you return to the I AM, wisdom fills your mind and your words gain the power you sought through vain claims.

Practice This Now

Imaginative_act: Assume the I AM as your inner maker and feel its quiet authority filling your mind; revise any claim of separation until you can affirm I am righteousness itself and feel that truth as your living state.
