Job 34:3-4 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Job 34 in context

Scripture Focus

3For the ear trieth words, as the mouth tasteth meat.
4Let us choose to us judgment: let us know among ourselves what is good.
Job 34:3-4

Biblical Context

The ear tests words as the mouth tests food. We are urged to choose judgment to determine what is good among us.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within you, the ear that hears is the movement of your own consciousness testing meaning. Words do not come from outside as final authority; they are signals your inner state invites you to hear. When Job says, 'Let us choose to us judgment,' you are being invited to assume the sovereign act of I AM, to decide, in the moment, what aligns with truth already present in you. Test each word not by argument, but by the felt sense of rightness: does it harmonize with the good you already know in your heart? By using inner discernment, you revise beliefs until the meaning satisfies the inner standard of good. This is not social consensus; it is the inner throne where you declare what is true. As you dwell in the feeling of being the I AM, you cause the outer world to align with that state. The tested words become occasions for realization, proof that your chosen good is the actual life you live. Practice becomes simply the habit of listening, judging, and affirming the good you embody.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Close your eyes, breathe, and affirm, 'I choose discernment; I know what is good.' Then listen to a word or suggestion and revise it to match your inner good, feeling it real for 60 seconds.
